Jerry was born on July 30, 1940, in Pensacola, Fla. to Homer Lee and Alene Hughen Bodie. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Aaron and Billy Bodie.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Brenda Grayson Bodie of Knoxville, Tenn.; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Ann Bodie, Ken and Lisa Bodie, and Larry and Mitzi Bodie, all of Knoxville, Tenn. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Davis, Catherine, Blake, Grant, Kendall, and Brenon Bodie, all of Knoxville, Tenn; by his brother, Harold Bodie of Knoxville, Tenn; and his sisters, June Mackey of Pensacola, Fla, Joyce Digmon of Prattville, Ala., and Pat Spencer and Marilyn Moore of Knoxville, Tenn; and Pat Bodie of Knoxville, Tenn, the mother of his children; and by many loving nieces and nephews by whom he was affectionately called "Uncle GiGi".
A special thank you to Jerry's beautiful sisters, who provided such loving care and support to not only their brother, but to his wife and sons as well.
Pallbearers will be Jerry, Ken, Larry, Davis, Blake, and Grant Bodie.
Honorary pallbearer will be Brenon Bodie.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today, August 12, 2010, at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. Family and friends will meet on Friday, August 13, 2010, at 12:45 p.m. at Highland Memorial Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. graveside service officiated by the Very Rev. David Boettner.
