The Paris News, Friday, March 3, 1995, pg. 12A: Roy Hatfield 78, of Paris died Wednesday, March 1, 1995 at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 4, in Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Evers and the Rev. Othoe Stegall officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetary. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hatfield was born Nov. 5, 1916, in Millerstown, KY, a son of Fonzie and Bessie Prunty Hatfield. He married Alta Womack April 4, 1949. He was retired from DeKalb Hatchery and had served in the Army. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Geneva Schwartz, Deloris A. Young, Wanda Huggins, all of Paris, one son Billy Joe Robinson of Arlington, TX, 10 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.
Pallbearers will be Coy Smallwood, Willie Hudson, Jeff Baeza, Chuck Skeen, James Flannery, G.I. Carpenter, Mike Adkins, Stanley Glenn, and Vernon Thompson. Officers of The Fraternal Order of Eagles, No. 3864 will be honorary bearers.
