At the Lutheran Hospital in Moline on Friday night at 12:00 o'clock occurred the death of Mrs. Lucy Badham of Black Hawk township. Death was due to a complication of diseases, having been sick for the past three months she was taken to the hospital several weeks ago.
Lucy Hodson was born in Columbus, Ohio, June 1, 1863. When a small child she came with her parents, Henry and Lucy Barnes Hodson, to Rock Island County, and she had made her home here since. In 1881 she was united in marriage to Benson Badham, in Davenport. The couple taking up their residence in Black Hawk township.
Those who survive her are her husband, three brothers; Guy Hodson, Milan; William Hodson, South Dakota; and Samuel Hodson of Winterset, Iowa; three sisters: Mrs. John Derrick of Bowling; Mrs. Bessie Kinneman, Winner, South Dakota; and Mrs. Edith Stephenson, of Aberdeen, south Dakota.
The remains were taken to the home where funeral services were conducted on Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. O.C. Geisler of the German Lutheran Church of Davenport officiating. Internment took place in Chippiannock Cemetery. The pall bearers dressed all in white were: Miss Margaret Huber, Miss Clara Derrick, Miss Maud Derrick, Miss Ruth Kinneman, Miss Ella Blaser and Mrs. Maye Derrick.
