S. CORVAL CLIFTON
DECATUR -- S. Corval Clifton, 81, of Wren, died at 5:55 p.m. Sunday in Adams County Memorial Hospital, Decatur, where he had been a patient 7 weeks.
Born November 3, 1891 in Wren, he was the son of Landy J. Clifton and Laura (Sheets) Clifton Purk. On November 25, 1913, he married Wilma Agler who died on April 22, 1927.
Survivors include 6 sons, Bud of Van Wert, Devon of Decatur and Garland, Webster, Ronald and Donald all of Wren; a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Imogene) Irwin of Rt. 2, Decatur; a brother, Harry of Wren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Olive Johnson of Huntington, Ind., and Mrs. Ernest H. (Helen) Shepard of Wren; 26 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were 2 brothers, Roy and Bill.
Mr. Clifton was a retired farmer and a member of Wren United Brethren in Christ church in Wren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Wren United Brethren in Christ church, with the Rev. George Rodifer officiating. Burial will be iin Woodland Cemetery.
Friends may call the the Zwick funeral home, Decatur until 11 a.m. Wednesday and at the church from 12 noon Wednesday until time of service.

S. Corval Clifton dies at hospital

S. Corval Clifton, 81, of Wren, O. (route 2, Ohio City), died at 5:55 p.m. Sunday at the Adams county memorial hospital. He had been hospitalized seven weeks.

Mr. Clifton, a retired farmer was a member of the Wren United Brethren in Christ church.

He was born in Wren on November 3, 1891, the son of Landy Clifton and Laura Sheets Clifton Purk, and was married to Wilma Agler on November 25, 1913. She preceded him in death on April 22, 1972.

Surviving are seven children, Garland Clifton of Wren; Bud Clifton of Van Wert; Webster Clifton of Wren; DeVon Clifton of Decatur; Donald Clifton of Wren; Ronald Clifton of Wren; Mrs. Jack (Imogene) Irwin of route 2, Eiting Acres; two sisters, Mrs. Olive Johnson of Huntington; Mrs. Ernest H. (Helen) Shepard of Wren; one brother, Harry Clifton of Wren; 26 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Roy and William Clifton, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wren United Brethren in Christ church, with Rev. George Rhodifer officiating. Burial will be in the Woodland cemetery, Van Wert. Friends may call at the Zwick funeral home until 11 a.m. Wednesday, and after 12 noon at the church until time of the services. Preferred memorials are to the Cancer fund.
