Final rites will be held at 1 pm today (Thursday) in the Guilford Methodist Church for Chesley A. McGeorge, 85, retired farmer, who died Monday night at the Harmony Hill Nursing home, Stanberry, where he had been a patient since August 10.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Iris May Duncan, Oltathe, Kansas and Mrs. Raymond Miller, Stanberry, son Eldon C. McGeorge, Bolckow, Mo., three brothers, Marvin McGeorge, Omaha Nebr., Emmett McGeorge, King City, and Charles McGeorge of Filefia, Mont.; three sisters Mrs. Mary Clark and Mrs. Alda Cofer, both of Kansas City, and Mrs. Ethel Duley, Stanberry, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. McGeorge, son of the late John P. and Rosella Leake Mcgeorge, was born March 26, 1881, the the Lafayette community. He resided most of the last 27 years in the Stanberry area. He and the former Miss Grace Joy Weathermon were united in marriage Feb 5, 1914 in Guilford. She preceded him in death in December 1957. Since then he spent some time in Olathe with his daughter, Mrs. Duncan. He was a member of the Guilford Christian church and of the Modern Woodmen of America.
