John W. was the son of Elizabeth (Pate) and Afalon Alloway, as listed on his death certificate. John W. 's wife, Hannah Mariah Alloway, the daughter of Rebecca (McCune) and Abraham Alloway, died in 1919. John and Hannah are buried side by side in Oak Woods Cemetery. At the time of John's death on December 24, 1921 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, John W. was survived by two of his sons, Harry and Roy, and predeceased by his son, Wilmore.
