Mr. Shaw was born May 1, 1875 in Howard county, Indiana. He was one of nine children born to William Jordan and Sarah C. Shockley Shaw. He married Katie M. Robb on Sept. 7, 1899 in Virginia, Ill. and she died Apr. 12, 1958.
Mr. Shaw farmed what was known as the Peter Johnson farm for 2 years before moving to town. The farm is now owned by Philip Weyrich.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Wesley Tammeus, of Delavan, with whom he made his home the last year; two sons, Forrest P. Shaw of Rock Island and Dwight L. Shaw of Fisher; and one sister, Mrs. Alberta Bryant, of Greentown, Ind.; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Shaw attended the Delavan Methodist church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Hallmann Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Lockard officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Rest cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday.
