SAN ANGELO - Bobby Dean Rasberry, 73, of San Angelo passed away Saturday, June 14, 2008. Memorial service will be held at 10 am, Monday, June 16, in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. David Currie officiating.
Bobby was born June 21, 1934, in Whitehouse, Texas, the seventh child of James Madison and Dorthy Jewell "Byrum" Rasberry.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Alphonso Lee, Albert, and Jimmy Rasberry; and his sisters, Marie Ginn and Jean Woodward.
He graduated from Tyler High School in 1953. He attended Junior College in Jacksonville and Texas Lutheran College in Seguin on a basketball and baseball scholarship. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959.
Survivors include his brother, Tommy Rasberry; three sons and their wives, Mitchel and Tyra Rasberry, Kurt and Candi Rasberry, and Robert and Christie Rasberry; six grandsons, Brian, Brett, Brent, Ross, Reese and Mason Rasberry; and a very special family friend Hazel St. Clair. Most of those who knew Bob would find him at a sporting event, passionately supporting his grandchildren. The family request memorials be made to West Texas Boys Ranch.
