Billy C. Sorrells of Covington, died December 28, 2006, at the age of 78. He was born in Newton County to the late William "Billy" and Annie Peters Sorrells and retired from General Motors in 1989. Known for having a big heart, he loved to laugh and enjoyed playing games. He loved animals, especially his dogs. Mr. Sorrells is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce Sorrells of Covington, Joey and Lea Sorrells of Fernandina Beach, FL, Barry and Becky Sorrells of Oxford, Brian and Donna J. Sorrells of Monroe; grandchildren, Brandee Sorrells Parker, B.J. Sorrells , Holley Sorrells , Ashly Sorrells , Austen Sorrells ; great-grandchildren, Brandon Johnson, Barrett Parker, Jackson Sorrells, Natalie Sorrells ; sister Joann Howell of Covington; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Sorrells will be held Saturday, December 30, 2006, at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Caldwell and Cowan with Rev. Doug Childers officiating and interment following at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
