Death Date: Oct. 9, 1913
Death Place: Carroll County, Ohio, USA
Father: Abraham Moore (1809 - 1869)
Mother: Elizabeth Moore (1811 - 1902)
Her obituary in the Carroll Chronicle, Carrollton, Ohio, Friday, October 17, 1913.
God help us to realize this cold truth and be reconciled to the inexorable verdict, from which there is no appeal, and looking up to the mute and patient stars say, "Thy Will Be Done."
Mary Ann Moore was born in Perrysville, May 22, 1843, and died near Carrollton, October 9, 1913. Interment at Perrysville Saturday. She was united in marriage to Hiram Kail, June 5, 1866, and became the mother of eleven children, only two of whom survive her. She belonged to a family of fourteen children, of which one sister and three brothers are living.
Most of her life was spent in Perry Township except the last few years spent taking care of her orphaned grandchildren, Nellie and Lorin Lotz, near Carrollton. She was a member of the United Brethren church from girlhood, a devoted wife and mother, ever ready to help those in need, and her genial smile and kindly greeting endeared her to all who knew her. She has come to the end of a long, steep and rugged road; her busy hands are still--her weary feet at rest.
