Bertie Lou Jones Arrington, 87, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bill Mayhew officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday according to the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Mrs. Arrington was born May 30, 1923 in Dothan, AL daughter of the late Eugene and Minnie Davis Hughes. She was a homemaker and was a former employee of Kirvens Department Store. Other than her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Edgar L. Jones, brother, Bill Hughes, sisters, Quilla Smith and Marie Johnson, and great grandson, Timmy Wadkins. Survivors include her four daughters, Sabra Peacock of Columbus, GA, Lindy Phillips (Fred) of Columbus, GA, Diane Weaver (Jim) of Flowery Branch, GA and Betty Sue Parks (Steve) of Commerce, GA, son, Larry Jones of Columbus, GA, eleven grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.
