Funeral services for James Arlis Thomas of Ashland, Benton Co., Mississippi were conducted Friday afternoon at the Forked Oak Baptist Church in Prentiss Co., Mississippi. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Thomas died suddenly Thursday at his home. He was a native of Prentiss County a farmer and 57 years of age.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Luna Bell (Johnson) Thomas; his parents, Charlie & Ellen (Pannell) Thomas; three sons, Clarence Thomas of Memphis, Clovis Thomas of Kenosha Wisconsin and Ralph Thomas of Kenosha Wisconsin; six daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Conwill of Baldwyn, Miss. Arlie Faye Thomas, Miss. Ruby Thomas, Miss. Nancy Thomas and Miss. Mattie Thomas all of Kenosha, Wisconsin and Mrs. Shirley King of Memphis, Tennessee; a brother, Fred Thomas of Booneville, Mississippi; four sisters, Mrs. Francis Fryar of Dumas Mississippi., Mrs. Lois Nabors of Wilson, Louisiana, Mrs. Mollie Lindsey of West Memphis, Arkansas and Mrs. Ellen Cooper of Booneville, Mississippi and 9 grandchildren..
