Son of John C. & Matilda Elizabeth (Douglas) McClellan. As a young man, he fought for the Confederacy during the Civil War.
Elizabeth McLellan, wife of John McLellan, has a CSA widow's pension on line in the GA Archives. She says he died on 24 Dec 1911 in Appling Co. She says they married in 1868 and he served with Company F of the 47th GA regt. See GA Pension # 178128-00180.
NOTE:
