Frederick A. Wehrman was born January 3, 1860, in Christian county (sic), Illinois, and passed away on December 13, 1940, at his home in Brighton, Colorado. He moved with his parents to Nebraska in March, 1875. He was united in marriage with Belle Z. Littrell September 20, 1880. They have had 60 years of life together, having just celebrated their 60th anniversary last September.
He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. R.D. Stahl of Burns, Oregon; seven sons, Wm. C. of Nelson, Nebr., Ruble L. of Hudson, Colo., C.C. of Premont, Texas, J.C. of Longmont, Colo., J.R. of Brighton, V.A. of South Gate, Calif., F.C. of Denver, Colo.; twenty-four grand children and sixteen great grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Brock, Farnam, Nebr.
He joined the Christian Church when a young man and at the time of his death was a member of the Christian Church in Brighton.
He was one of the pioneer farmers of Nuckolls county (sic). He helped to break out a great deal of its land. His farm home is located seven miles southwest of Nelson. He retired in 1919 and moved to Brighton, Colorado, where he has since resided.
The funeral was conducted by his former pastor, Rev. F.E. Day, Sunday afternoon, December 15, 1940, in Brighton. His wife, his sister and all of his children with the exception of C.C. were in attendance. Also a large number of other relatives and friends. He was laid to rest in the Brighton cemetery.
Three of the pallbearers were former Nelson men: Dean Lapp and Hazel Lair of Denver, and Chas. O. Sargent of Roggen, Colo.
Mrs. Wehrman accompanied her daughter, Mrs. Roy Stahl and Mr. Stahl to their home at Burns, Oregon.
