Stella Virginia (Hartman) Wilt Allison, 85, of Waynesboro passed away Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at Augusta Health. Born July 10, 1925, in Bergton, she was the daughter of the late James Roy and Minnie Bell (Mongold) Hartman.

Mrs. Allison treasured spending time with her family; in fact, she was like a mother to all. She is described by her family as being the best mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Allison was a very loving woman, and she enjoyed her cats and dog as well as her flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Allen Dardy Wilt; second husband, Donald T. Allison; sons, Garry Allison and Robert and Edward Wilt; daughter-in-law, Martha Dooms Wilt; sisters, Elsie Fitzgerald and Dorothy Thompson; and brother, Ralph Hartman.

Survivors include sons, Nelson Eugene Wilt and wife, Patricia, of Waynesboro and Rodney Wayne Wilt of Waynesboro; daughter, Linda K. Allison Davis and husband, Roger, of Stuarts Draft; brothers, Alfred Hartman of Hermitage and Paul Hartman of Staunton; sisters, Edna Marshall of Staunton, Sue Samuels of Lottsburg and Wanda Gregory of Staunton; as well as 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., with Pastor Tony Hiles officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
