MORGAN - Gone, but not forgotten, is our beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and faithful friend. Emil Don Dinsdale (Don), 72, left this mortal life on December 18, 2003, following a lengthy, but courageous battle with cancer.

Don was born in Ogden, UT, May 10, 1931, to Emil Frederick and Emily LaRee Illum Dinsdale and was the oldest of four children, Garry (deceased), Bette (Bernie) Svaboda, Lexington, NE and Doug (Pat) Dinsdale, N. Ogden.

Don attended Weber High School where he actively participated in sports particularly basketball. In 1948 his team took the state championship. He attended Weber State College and the University of Utah , graduating with a degree in education.

He taught 32 years in the Ogden City School District at Mound Fort, Highland Jr. High and Ben Lomond High School, retiring in 1987.

On June 14, 1957 he married Janet Colleen Greenwell; three daughters were born to them, Carrie Lynn (Bob) Stewart, Rani (Mick) McBride, and Donna (Paul) Abe, all of SLC. Don and Colleen were later divorced.

On May 29, 1971 he married Cynthia Joyce Phillips and fathered two daughters; Amy (Chad) Hull and Erin Leigh (Trevor) Keyes. They later divorced.

On Nov. 2, 1984, he married Cathy Anne Little in the Ogden LDS Temple. Together they have served in many church callings and were working as ushers on Temple Square and as ordinance workers in the Ogden LDS Temple at the time of his passing.

Don's life has been full and active. He was drafted into the US Army in 1953 and served two years in Japan in the Counter Intelligence Corps. He was a member of the recreation committee, coached basketball, tennis, golf and swimming in school, and refereed basketball and football games for 25 years. He has been active in the community as a member of the Morgan Lions Club and was currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors at Goldenwest Credit Union.

Don was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed riding his 4- wheeler.

Surviving are his wife, five daughters, six grandchildren, mother, brother, sister and many extended family members.

Don was preceded in death by his father and brother.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. At the Morgan Stake Center 355 No 700 East with Bishop Kevan Hodson conducting. Family and friends may pay their respects at the stake center Monday, December 22nd from 6-8 p.m. And on Tuesday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the South Morgan Cemetery, with military honors afforded by the Morgan Veterans.

The family extends appreciation to the physicians and to the professional staff at Ogden Regional Medical Center for their years of care and to Hospice for Utah.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society in Don's honor.
