Van was the son of Earl Durfee & Amelia S. (Carpenter) Wolcott. He was the husband of Letha Warren. Owned and operated a farm for over 40 years. Prior to that taught in district schools in the area. Member of Wyoming Co. Extension Service, Warsaw Grange and a trustee of Union Park cemetery. He leaves his widow; 2 sons, Walter E. of Lake Wales, Florida and Ronald L. of Warsaw; 3 daughters, Mrs. william (Verna) Hume of Warsaw, Mrs Laverne Peck of Pavilion and Mrs. Kyle (Avis) Glosser of Warsaw; 17 grandchildren and 2 brothers, Myron and Harold, both of Warsaw.
