The Chronicle Telegram June 5, 1940 Obituary provided by Pattie Welsh Mrs. Amy E Ingraham OBERLIN, O- Mrs. Amy Eliza Ingraham known for many years as a resident of Oberlin, died this morning after a long illness at the Williams Home in Amherst.Mrs. Ingraham was born in Sullivan, April 25, 1860, only daughter of George and Amy Hershey. She atttended the schools of her native town and for a time was a student at the Lodi Academy in Lodi, Ohio. She was married to Charles E Ingraham of Sullivan on September 4, 1880. They moved to Oberlin in 1904, where, for a number of years Mr. Ingraham carried on a dry goods store. Mr Ingraham died in 1911. For a number of years Mrs. Ingraham continued her residenct here on West College St, and in 1926 she made her home until her passing with her daughter, Mrs. George W Jackson on North Cedar Ave. Two children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Ingraham, Harry, who died in Los Angeles, CA in 1935 and Marie, with whom she made her home in later years. She had a half sister, Frances Roorback, who died in 1938. Surviving her besides her daughter are four grandchildren, Alma, Amy and Roger Ingraham and Wendolyn Jackson; and four great grandchildren. Junior and Donald Godward and Roger and Radie Ingraham. Also surviving is one niece. Mrs Roy Campbell and one nephew George Roorback, both of New London, OH. Mrs Ingraham was a member of the First Church in Oberlin for many years. She was a constant attendant at all the services of the church and interested in all its activities. The church was her sole interest, always uppermost in her thought and life.Funeral services will be held at the funeral parlors of George Sedgeman and the burial will be in the family lot at Huntington.
