Kim was born March 15, 1966, in Merrill, daughter of Carol (Van Slate) Osness, Merrill, and the late Dale Osness. She married Robert R. Russell on Sept. 5, 1992, in Appleton. He survives. Kim graduated from Merrill High School and received a bachelor's degree in interior design from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
She was currently employed as a receptionist/clerical support for the Lincoln County Department of Social Services. Kim enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to country music, reading, cooking, art work and the outdoors.
Besides her husband Robert R. Russell, and her mother Carol Osness, both of Merrill, Kim is survived by two children, her daughter Kylie, at home, and her son, Eric, also at home; three sisters, Kerri (Jim) Wolff of Merrill, and Kathi Porter and Rhonda Osness, both of Schofield; and four brothers, Rick (Lynay) Osness of Provo, Utah, Ronald (Margaret) Osness of Merrill, Ryan (Pam) Osness of Plymouth and Rory (Tami) Osness of Port Washington. Kim is further survived by her mother- and father-in-law, George and Nancy Russell of Merrill; two sisters-in-law, Leah (George) Hoedeman of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Kay (Robert) Klinter of Green Bay; and two brothers-in-law, Lyndon (Deb) Russell of Round Lake Beach, Ill., and Paul (Kati) Russell of Sun Prairie. Kim was preceded in death by her father, Dale Osness.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. Ted Gulhaugen will officiate. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at the Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after 9 a.m. Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be given to Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation for Cancer Research or Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
