Maynard W. Campbell of Smithville, Texas, a former resident of this county, passed away at Austin, Texas June 17, 1935. He was born at LaVergne, Tennessee and was 46 years, 7 months, and 24 days old. He was an ex-serviceman and a disabled veteran.
Mr. Campbell had been a minister of the gospel for twenty-five years. His wife, the former Miss Ruth Aylor, is a member of a pioneer Fort Bend County family. She survives him. Also two sons, Maynard Charles and Robert Lee Campbell; as well as his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G.T. Campbell of Minco, Oklahoma; four brothers; and four sisters.
Interment took place in the Aylor family plot in the Orchard Cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by Evangelist Robert Parham, with whose father, the late Charles F. Parham, Mr. Campbell had formerly been associated in the ministry.
