Horace J.(Bert) Bartoo, retired publisher of the Remington Press passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Berea Eger, at St. Louis, Friday afternoon at four o'clock, following a lingering illness of several years. Mr. Bartoo had made periodical trips to Florida and other summer climates for the benefit of his health, but the past winter he remained at the home of his daughter in

Mr. Bartoo was editor and publisher of the Remington Press for more than thirty years, taking over the establishment in 1912 following Ferd Griffith, as editor and publisher of the Remington Press.
As a writer Mr. Bartoo's reputation spread over a wide territory. He wrote a viril pen, usualy taking a definite stand on any current questions or problem, which he backed up with an aerid styleog writing that left no question as to his position in the matter.
