He was born on March 8, 1922, a son of the late James and Jeanette Stecher Nixon.
On September 7, 1946, he married Constance Callahan, who preceded him in death on October 22, 1999.
Jim honorably served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was also a Free and Accepted Mason and a graduate of Penn State University.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Repotski, of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Ruth Anne Beck, of Lititz; two sons, James T. Nixon, of Marietta, Ga., and Richard Nixon, of State College; one brother, Robert Nixon; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 208 W. Foster Ave., State College, with the time being announced later. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Hanover Township.
