William H. Smith, 77, was instantly killed about 11 o'clock this morning when has car was hit by a Missouri Pacific train at the crossing on North First street.
The elderly man lived with his son, Lloyd, at 222 N. Second street, mad a practice of taking a lunch to his son, who operates the service station at the corner of East and Sycamore streets, each day.
In addition to his son, Mr. Smith leaves two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Hershey, Iola, and Mrs. Lawrence Yoho, LeRoy; six grandchildren; three brothers, Layman Smith, Colorado Springs, Ivan Smith, Drennen, Colo. and Frank Smith, Independence, Mo. and two sisters, Mrs. Lester Cook, Edgar, Neb., and Mrs. Ella Jones, Fairfield, Neb.
