LaNeve Norinne Cook Thorpe was born November 10, 1937 in Pioche, NV. She was the third child of eleven born to Berl B. Cook and Katie Ash Cook.
She met and married the love of her life, James Eldon Thorpe. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on April 10, 1958.
She loved music and sang with the Wasatch Suburbinettes, Jones Girls, Sweet Adeline's and Salt Lake Oratorical Society (performing the Messiah). She would sing duets with her sister Velma. She loved poetry and was a published prize winning poet. Norinne was a kind loving woman who loved serving the Lord and others.
Norinne is survived by her loving husband, James; four sons and one daughter and their spouses; twenty grand and great-grandchildren; six brothers; four sisters; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; in-laws; one daughter-in-law; and three brothers-in-law.
Funeral Services will be held on August 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Murray Dale LDS Chapel (6300 South 300 East, Murray). There will be a private family gathering held one hour prior from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Interment at Holladay Memorial Park (4900 South Memory Lane, Holladay).
