Services for James Russell Emerson will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Tattnall Square Baptist Church, Macon, with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
Born in Jones County, he had lived in Macon for more than 70 years. An Army veteran, he retired from Central State Hospital.
He was a member of Tattnall Square Baptist Church, where he served as deacon emeritus trustee and treasurer. He was a member of the Finance Committee, Benevolent Committee, the Bailey Mozo Bible Class and the brotherhood of the church.
Survivors include his wife Helen Amerson Emerson; and daughter, Betty Emerson Biddle of Atlanta, Georgia.
