Laura Fuqua Wilkins, 86, of 104 West Carr Street, Mebane, N.C., passed away Friday, August 6, 2010 at Hospice Home in Burlington.
She was a native of Person County, N.C., and retired from Peaches & Cream. She was a U.S. Army WAC during World War II and a member of Peoples Christian Church in Mebane, N.C.
She is survived by a son, Carl Wilkins and wife, Helen, of Mebane, N.C.; daughters, Patricia Gunter and husband, Harold, of Mebane, N.C., and Phyllis Boggs and husband, Dennis, of Graham, N.C., and Peggy Bullard and husband, Danny, of North Myrtle Beach, Shirley Price and husband, Mickey, of Liberty, N.C.; brother, Eugene Fuqua and wife, Dorothy, of Reidsville, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hustler Roger Wilkins; and her parents, Frank and Lois Taylor Fuqua.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Peoples Christian Church with the Rev. James Christopher and the Rev. Jack Hill officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Christian Church Cemetery in Semora, N.C. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane, N.C., from 6 until 8 p.m., Monday, August 9, 2010 and other times at the residence.
