Arie Tallent was the daughter of John Logan Tallent and Amanda Selena Jacobs Tallent of the Iotla community in Franklin, NC . Arie worked as a midwife and helped with the birth of Robert Walter Reese's kids born in the 1890s. Arie helped bring Alice Octavia Reese into the world in 1899, and only a short couple months later, the baby Alice's mother Octavia Womack Reese died. Robert Walter Reese then married his midwife Arie Tallent. Their first child together was Robert Lee Reese Sr., born in 1902.
