ST. GEORGE - Marteena Kartchner Hock, 85, died July 10, 1981 in the St. George Care Center. She was born June 4, 1896 in Beaver. Utah to Aaron Kartchner and Margarete Blythe. She married Alma Walace Holliday July 2, 1913. in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death. She married Al Hock in 1966. He also preceded her in death.

She grew up and was educated in Salt Lake City. During her life she had lived in Cash Valley, Ogden, and for 10 years in lone, California, before moving to St. George in January of 1980. She was a member of the LDS Church. She was especially talented in handicrafts such as crocheting and embroidery.

Survivors include: one son. Dell A. Holliday, Hurricane; two daughters, Mrs. Rodney (Lila) Johnson, North Ogden; Mrs. Ilene Garcia, lone, California: 14 grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Thursday. July 16 in the Richmond City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Linquist & Sons Mortuary in Ogden, Utah, Wednesday. July 15 from 7 to 8 p.m.

Marteena K Holliday Hope Hock, 85, of Ogden, died Friday, July 10, 1981, in St George.

She was born June 4, 1896, in Beaver, Utah, a daughter of Aaron and Margaret Blythe Kartchner.

She married Alma W Holldiay. He later died. She was married to James E Hope. He later died. On July 16, 1963, she married Alma T Hock in Elko, Nev. He later died.

She had been a rug weaver in her own home.

She was reared in Salt Lake City and had lived in Lewiston, Utah; Ogden; Ione, Calif; Sutter Creek, Calif, and Hurricane, Utah.

She was a member of the LDS Church and had served as religion class teacher in the Sunday School. She had been a Primary and Relief Society teacher.

Surviving are one son and two daughters, Dell A Holliday, Hurricane; Mrs Rodney (Lila) Johnson, North Ogden; and Ileen Garcia, Ione, Calif; one stepson and two stepdaughters, D.W. Hock, of Washington; Verda Burgie, Ogden; Ardis Yearsley, North Ogden; 14 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; two great-great grand children; 11 stepgrandchildren and 24 step great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is a sister, Loretta Blair, Lewsiton, Utah.

Funeral services will be held at the graveside Thursday at 10 am at the Richmond, Cache County, Cemetery.

Friends may call at Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm.
