NELLYSFORD-Thomas Franklin Whitlock, 54, died unexpectedly in the yard of his home in Nellysford Wednesday at 1 p.m.Mr. Whitlock was a member of the Holy Cross Church of Batesville. He was born Nov. 18, 1908 in Albermarle County, a son of the late Henry Alfred and Mary Alice Fox Whitlock.He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ora Belle Truslow Whitlock; one son, James Franklin Whitlock at home; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Alma King of Covington and Mrs. Helen Fox of Waynesboro; three brothers, Capt. I. S. Whitlock of the Waynesboro Police Department, Wilbur Whitlock of Waynesboro, and William Whitlock of Crozet; and a number of nieces and nephews.The body will remain at the Etter Funeral Home in Waynesboro until noon Friday when it will be placed in the Wintergreen Christian Church where the funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. by the Rev. James Stewart of Lynchburg. Burial will be in the church cemetery.Active pallbearers will be Rodney Thompson, Willie Thompson, Woodrow Meeks, Ross Davis, Joe Thomas and Angus Campbell.Honorary pallbearers will be Mitchell Thompson, Walter Carter, J. C. Thompson, Mulford Campbell, Landon Phillips, John Thomas, Meredith (Jack) Hughes, Pearson Small, J. E. Falls, Arthur Ewing, Wayne Carter, John Hughes, Vernon Truslow, and John J. Coleman.
