Akron -- Funeral services for Floyd L. Hartzler, 71, Route 1 Akron, will be held in the Haupert Funeral Home here at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. D. L. Slaybaugh and the Rev. Ralph Hoffman will officiate, and burial will be in Roann Cemetery.
Mr. Hartzler, a retired farmer, died at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, at his home after an extended illness. He had lived in Akron for 23 years.
He was born in Perry Township, Miami County, April 25, 1894, the son of Truman and Stella (Shoemaker) Hartzler. He was married Aug. 28, 1926, to Reatha Smith, who survives.
Also surviving are nine daughters and two sons, Jonathan and Marjorie Hartzler, at home; Miss Peggy Hartzler, Mrs. Erma Ankenbrandt and Mrs. Maryann Booher, Fort Wayne; Mrs. Stella Butt, South Bend; Mrs. Beverly Elrod, Niles, Mich; Mrs. Betty Ebbinghouse, North Manchester; Mrs. Helen Landis, Warsaw; Mrs.
Donna Hively, Pierceton and William Hartzler, Fulton; 16 (?) grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Nellie Manor, Gas City; Mrs. Ralph (Nettie) Miller; Mrs. Verlin (Mable) Ramsey and Mrs. Bryon (Mildred) Thompson, Route 1, Akron, Mrs. Flossie Lance, Wabash, and Mrs. William (Mary) Polk, Muncie, and three brothers, Orville Hartzler of Florida, Robert Hartzler, Rural Route Macy and Joe Hartzler, Disko.
