Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Pickern, the Rev. Dillard Ensley and the Rev. James Hancock. Interment will be in the Lenox City Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 1, 1913, in Colquitt County to the late Eugene Jefferson Rentz and the late Lourena Anderson Rentz. She lived most of her life in Cook County and was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. She was the retired owner and operator of Lindsey Dry Cleaners. Her husband was the late Ralph L. Shierling.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Joy S. Smith and Nerine S. McIntyre, both of Sparks.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Charlie, Leffie, Sim, Sullivan and Sam Rentz; and five sisters, Lula Willis, Bessie Revels, Martha Pitts, Rosa Godwin and Addie Wetherington.
