Thomas Harris was born in Ashland County, Ohio, August 10, 1846, being at the time of his death 62 years, 10 months, and 19 days old. In 1856 he moved with his father to Iowa where he grew to manhood. In 1867 he was united in marriage to Susan L. Tryon. Seven children were born to this union, two of whom died in infancy. In 1885 he moved with his family to Nebraska where his wife died Dec. 10, 1892. The following year he removed his family to Iowa. In 1898 he was married to Mrs. Frances Hunter who survives him. Besides his wife he leaves two sons and three daughters, two sisters, four brothers, and three step daughters to mourn his loss.
