"ANDREW G MOGAN[sic] DIES AT NASHVILLE"
Andrew Gore Morgan, of Cookeville, died at the hospital in Nashville Friday morning, May 29 at 10 o'clock. Funeral services will be held at his home Sunday evening. Interment in the Cookeville cemetery. The many friends of Mr. Morgan were shocked to hear of his death after an illness of only a few days. He was taken sick at Crawford Monday night, and was reported to have been poisoned by something he had eaten. His condition was serious from the start. He was removed to his home however, on Thursday was take[sic] to Nashville for an operation. His condition continued to grow more serious and when the operation was preformed[sic] it was given out that their was no chances for his recovery. This proved true, and he died at 10 a.m. Friday.
Mr. Morgan was a son of Capt. and Mrs. J.M. Morgan, and was born and raised in Jackson county on Roaring river. He was a man of pleasant disposition, upright and honest in all his dealings, kind and loving to his family, true to his friends and forgiving to all. He leaves a wife and three children, mother and father, two brothers and three sisters and friends innumerable, who mourn his death and revere his memory."
