Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb 2, for Bennett John Poen of the Hanover community. Mr. Poen was born Feb. 4, 1880 in Iowa and moved to this area as a small boy. In March, 1906 he married Mary Brader. Mrs. Poen and a son, Lloyd, of Pauline survive.
The Rev. Lubertus Hayenga of Hanover Presbyterian church was in charge. Reuben Adams was the soloist, accompanied by Geo. DeBoer. Pallbearers were Henry Tjaden (sic), Robert Quiggle, Frank Pavelka, Charles VonNordheim, Edward Heeren and Fred A. Harms. Burial was in Parkview cemetery, Hastings.
