Born Oct. 11, 1957, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Betty E. (Paul) Lakes of Dublin; she survives. On March 4, 1974, she married Kevin K. Sherwood in Jellico, Tenn.; he survives.
Mrs. Sherwood was a 1976 graduate of Lincoln High School in Cambridge City. She worked as an internal auditor for 19 years at Wayne Bank & Trust in Cambridge City. She was a homemaker and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness. She lived in the Dublin and Cambridge City areas most of her life.
Survivors in addition to her mother and husband include one son, Kevin C. Sherwood of New Castle; two daughters, Shannelle A. (Mrs. Brian) Barker of Richmond and Jennifer M. (Mrs. Paul) Fox of Miamisburg, Ohio; three sisters, Janet K. (Mrs. Wayne) Gettinger of Hagerstown, Jane A. (Mrs. Albert) Lay of Cambridge City, and Nancy J. (Mrs. Steve) McNew of Straughn; and two grandchildren.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by an infant sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin, with David Scalf officiating.
Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
