Rosa Leta Burton, age 94 of Breckenridge, formerly of Albany, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 7, 2010. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 10th, in the Albany Cemetery with Rev. Don Clevenger officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held Monday evening, August 9th, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Morehart Mortuary of Albany.Rosa Leta Alexander was born on August 9, 1915 in Stephens County, Texas to parents, Ashpell Pye Alexander and Kathleen Wills Alexander. She attended country school in Stephens County and married Albert Pinkney "Pete" Burton on November 12, 1935 in Shackelford County. Always a dedicated homemaker to her family, at times Rosa Leta also worked outside of the home. Very talented at handwork, she loved to quilt and sew, as well as work in the garden and can the fruits of her labor so that she could share them with others. Rosa Leta was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Albany. Rosa Leta was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Margaret Ann Burton; one grandson, Temple Thurman; one great granddaughter, Tiffany Thurman; one son-in-law, Teddy Thurman; three brothers, A.D. Alexander, Alfred Alexander and Leroy Alexander and one sister, Ruby Webb. Rosa Leta is survived by one son, Al Burton and wife, Nita of Albany; one daughter, Cookie Thurman of Breckenridge; two sisters, Nancy Boyd of Breckenridge and Alma Harris of Albany; eight grandchildren, Teddy Thurman Jr. of Indianapolis, IN, Dee Thurman of Breckenridge and Mike Wiloth, Beverley Salters, Kim Wiloth, Mindy Skelton, , Tempie Wiloth and Tammy Brown, all of Albany; fourteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
