Mrs. Betsy Oades Player, aged 83 years, an early resident of this city died at her home 726 West Second North street, at 11:30 o'clock Sunday night.
Funeral services here held this afternoon in the Twenty-eighth ward chapel and internment was in the city cemetery.
Mrs. Player came to Salt Lake City from England arriving here on Oct. 7, 1852, having crossed the plains with a company headed by the late Orson Hyde. Her husband, Charles Player, was a stone cutter and worked on the Salt Lake Temple for 27 years.
Mrs. Player was the mother of 13 children, 10 of whom survive her. She also leaves 44 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
