Brother of Frederick A. Snow.

Irvine served as a Shipfitter, Second Class, USS Edsall (DD-219), U.S. Navy during World War II.

He resided in Belknap County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

Irvine was declared "Missing In Action" when the Edsall was attacked and sunk by Japanese surface vessels (2 cruisers, 2 battleships) which fired 1,335 shells finally sinking the Edsall in the Indian Ocean during the war. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Irvine also has a "Cenotaph" in the Riverside Cemetery, Alton, New Hampshire.
