Roy served as a Private, 48th Materiel Squadron, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Merrimack County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on December 12, 1940, prior to the war, in Concord, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a welder and also as Single, without dependents.

He became a POW of the Japanese Army in the "Fall Of The Philippines" in April-May, 1942.

Roy "Died While A POW" of the Japanese Army at Camp 4, O'Donnell, Tarlac, Luzon, Philippines during the war. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
