He resided in Merrimack County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on January 10, 1941, prior to the war, in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in woodworking and also as Single, without dependents.

A-20A #40-155 took off from Cairns Airfield, Queensland, Australia on a flight bound for Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. This aircraft failed to arrive at the destination during the war.

Roger was declared "Missing In Action" on this flight.
