Harry served as a Major/Asst. Superintendent of Nurses or Director, Station Hospital, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Strafford County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

Harry became a POW of the Japanese Army during the "Fall Of the Philippines" in 1942.

Harry "Died While A POW" of the Japanese Army in the sinking of the Enoura Maru, along with 270 other POW's. The ship was sunk by U.S. Navy planes from the U.S.S. Hornet in Takao Harbor, Formosa (Taiwan) during the war. The U.S. Navy was unaware that POW's were on the ship.

On January 11th, two days after the bombing, the surviving POW's carried the dead from the holds. The bodies were buried in a mass grave on Formosa. After the war, the remains they found were reburied at the Punchbowl in Hawaii.

However there was no identification made on the remains so it is unclear whose remains were buried and whose remains were still missing.

Harry was awarded the Prisoner Of War Medal and the Purple Heart.
