Son of Mabel A. Keliher who resided in Rochester, New Hampshire.

John served as a Technician Fifth Grade, 16th Bomber Squadron, 27th Bomber Group, Light, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Strafford County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on December 20, 1940, prior to the war, in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Camp attendant and also as Single, without dependents.

After the Battle of Bataan, which ended April 9, 1942 with the surrender of the American Forces, many of the soldiers did not surrender and continued to fight. Since John is not listed as a Japanese POW it is apparent that he was one of those who continued the fight.

John was "Killed In Action" in the Philippines during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
