Brother of Arthur C. Hale who resided in Lakewood, Ohio.

Crosby served as a Private First Class, 19th Squadron, 20th Air Base Group, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Rockingham County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on October 14, 1940, prior to the war, in Concord, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Clerk and also as Single, without dependents.

He became a POW of the Japanese Army in the "Fall Of The Philippines" in April-May, 1942.

Crosby "Died While A POW" of the Japanese Army at POW Camp 4, O'Donnell, Tarlac, Luzon, Philippines during the war.

He was awarded the Prisoner Of War Medal and the Purple Heart.
