Robert served as a Private, Headquarters Squadron, 27th Bomber Group, Light, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Coos County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on November 16, 1940, prior to the war, in Concord, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the building of aircraft and also as Single, without dependents.

Robert "Died While A POW" of the Japanese during the war somewhere on the Philippine Islands.

He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Prisoner Of War Medal.
