Son of Mrs. Carrie E. Day who resided in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

Stanley served as a Staff Sergeant, 172nd Infantry Regiment, 43rd Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Grafton County, New Hampshire and was a Member of the Vermont National Guard prior to the war.

His National Guard unit was called into full time active Army service on February 24, 1941, prior to the war, from Windsor, Vermont. He was noted, at that time, as being employed as a mechanic and also as Single, without dependents.

Stanley was "Killed In Action" in the Bulacan Province, Philippines during the war.

He was awarded the "Silver Star", Bronze Star, and the Purple Heart with one Oak Leaf Cluster.
