Jack served as a Staff Sergeant & Gunner on B-25J #44-29574, 71st Bomber Squadron, 38th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
He resided in Bergen County, New Jersey prior to the war.
He enlisted in the Army on November 1, 1944 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being Married.
B-25J #44-29574 took off, with a crew of 6, from Lingayen Airfield, Pangasinan, Luzon, Philippines on a strike mission off the coast of Formosa (Taiwan).
They were hit by ground anti-aircraft fire and were seen crashing approximately 10 miles off Takao, Formosa. The entire crew was lost.
Jack was declared "Missing In Action" in this crash during the war.
He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
