Raymond served as a Technical Sergeant & Gunner on B-25D #41-30259, 499th Bomber Squadron, 345th Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
He resided in Marion County, Oregon prior to the war.
He enlisted in the Army on September 14, 1942 in Tacoma, Washington. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Farm Hand and also as Married.
B-25D #41-30259 took off, with a crew of 4, from Nadzab Airfield (APO #713), Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea on a local transition mission. They were scheduled to return to Nadzab after this mission however were not seen or heard from again.
Raymond was declared "Missing In Action" on this flight during the war.
He was previously awarded the Air Medal.
