William served as a Staff Sergeant & Gunner on a B-24 (# unknown ), 320th Bomber Squadron, 90th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
He resided in Providence County, Rhode Island prior to the war.
He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on January 19, 1944 at Fort Deven's, Massachusetts. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a pattern and model maker and also as Married.
The B-24 that he was on was last seen by others to explode right before it crashed into the sea. Cause is currently unknown and the entire crew perished.
William was declared "Missing In Action" in this crash during the war.
He was awarded the Air Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
