He enlisted in the Army on August 21, 1942 Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in warehousing and also as Single, without dependents.
Earl was a passenger on B-25H #43-4915 that was assigned to the 718th Army Air Force Base Unit, U.S. Army Air Force.
B-25H #43-4915 took off, after World War II was over with a crew of 3 and 5 passengers, from Townsville, Queensland Australia on an administrative mission to Biak Island, Papua Province, Indonesia. They never reached their destination.
B-25H #43-4915 was not found until the mid 1990's and they had crashed near Timkua, Dutch New Guinea, Indonesia.
Earl was first declared "Missing" and his status was later changed to "Killed in the "Line Of Duty" once his remains were recovered.

Earl also has a "Cenotaph" in the Arlington Park Cemetery, Greenfield, Wisconsin.

The remains of Earl Spredemann and his entire crew were recovered on December 24, 1995, at Irian, Java. The remains were buried in a common grave at Arlington National Cemetery.
