Melton Dewey Patrick, Army Air Force. graduate of Chalybeate High School. son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Patrick of Tiplersville, entered the service in April 1943 and trained at Tyndall Field, Fla., Muroc, Calif., and Sioux Falls, S. D. In July 1944. Went overseas to the South Pacific, was reported rnissing in action on Nov. 16. 1944, officially declared dead in April 1946, gunner and second radio man aboard a B-24 of the "Bomber Barons." He bailed out plane on Nov. 16, 1944 following attack on Jap Fleet in Bruner Bay, Northwest Borneo. -World War II, Tippah Countians in The Service, 1941-1947, published by the Southern Sentinel, W.
